About JEE Main 2021

NTA conducts the exam twice in a year which benefits a candidate in several ways. The best score of the two exams will be taken into consideration for the preparation of merit list/ ranking. Candidates should meet the JEE Main qualification before filling the form. JEE Main comprises of the Paper 1 and Paper 2. JEE Main Paper 1 is conducted for admission in B.E./ B. Tech. program. On the other hand, JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted for admission in B.Arch/ B.Planning program. NTA conducts the exam of paper 1 and paper 2 in the following modes.

JEE Main Number of Attempts

Candidates who are desiring to take admission through JEE Main should know about the number of attempts. The number of attempts of JEE Main is limited to 3 times only for a candidate. After appearing in the exam for 3 times, a candidate will fall in the category of a non-eligible candidate. So, do not waste JEE Main attempts and appear in the exam after preparation.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the exam, candidates should meet the eligibility criteria of JEE Main in the first place. Refer to the official notification in the case to read about JEE Main qualifications in detail. However, one should meet conditions such as educational background, age limit, percentage, etc. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility should not register for the exam. JEE Main Age Limit

There is no age limit for the candidates for appearing in the exam. Those who passed Class 12th or equivalent in 2018, 2020 or appearing in 2021 can also apply. Candidates who passed the exam in 2017 or before or will appear in 2021 or later should not apply.

JEE Main Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed Class 12th or equivalent from a recognized Board or University. There should be 5 subjects in the qualifying examination. If any candidate has passed or will pass the exam with 4 subjects then he/she will not get the permission to sit for the exam. For admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs candidate should have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile.

For B.Arch. – It is important to study subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the qualifying examination.

JEE Main Reservation Policy

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories should have an idea of the JEE Main reservation policy. In this section, the information about JEE Main SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy), PwD reservation is available. Candidates can claim for reservation in the institutes run by Central Government. Candidates falling in the Central list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) may mark OBC in the category. For PwD, a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability is eligible. JEE Main Online Application Form 2021

The online form of JEE Main is available in online mode so that candidates can apply easily. While filling JEE Main 2021 application form make use of the correct details only. The use of incorrect information may lead to the cancellation of the application. NTA will not accept JEE Main online form submitted in other than online mode. Candidates should submit only an application form for a single session. While filling NTA JEE Main online form, candidates have to upload photo, signature, and other required documents (if any). After filling the details, make payment of the JEE Main 2021 fee either in online or offline mode.

JEE Main 2021 Application Correction

While filling the online form, try to complete all the steps in a correct manner. However, if any candidate makes a mistake then he/she will get the chance to modify the same. NTA will activate the link of JEE Main Application Correction for making changes in the form. The date of JEE Main application correction will release later. So, after submitting the form keep checking the website from time to time. Make changes in the form (if any) before JEE Main application correction last date. Otherwise, no one will get a second chance for exercising the same.

JEE Main Exam Pattern (Paper 1 & Paper 2)

The exam pattern of JEE Main Paper 1 is different from the JEE Main Paper 2 exam pattern. Hence candidates who wish to appear in the exam should be aware of JEE Main exam scheme. In Paper 1, questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be asked. Each section will contain a total of 25 questions. As per the eligibility criteria for B.Arch and B.Planning courses and according to the opinion of Subject Experts, a few changes in the pattern of the question paper(s) and the number of question(s) for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning have been approved by the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the conduct of JEE (Main)-2021 Examination. JEE Main 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus of JEE Main is an important factor in the preparation for the exam. Candidates should be well aware of the important topics. Preparation Tips for JEE Main –

  • Check the syllabus of the different subjects and make a list of easy and difficult topics.
  • After that start the preparation with the difficult subject/topic because you have enough time as of now.
  • Refer not only to the reference books but NCERT books also. Most of the questions in the exam are based on the NCERT concepts so complete all NCERT chapters first.
  • After that, you can go for the reference books to get a deep knowledge about the subject.
  • Purchase mock test papers either online or from a stationery shop. After completion of 2-3 chapters, make an attempt of the questions available in the JEE Main mock test papers.
  • It will let you know about your preparation level. The mock test papers of different subjects are easily available in the market as well as online.
  • Apart from this, maintain a suitable distance from the TV, Computer, Social Media, etc.
  • Download JEE Main previous year papers and practice the same to test your knowledge. You will get to know about the area requires more practice and work.
  • You can paste the important formulas of the different subjects on the wall near to your study table or bed so that you can have a look at it from time to time.
  • Go for a walk or run in order to stay healthy and to refresh your mind. Listen to music when you feel boring while study.

Only eligible candidates will be able to download JEE Main hall ticket 2021. NTA is the responsible body for releasing the admit card for the exam. The details such as application/ registration number and date of birth are important for JEE Main admit card download. NTA will not share the admit card of JEE Main either through email or post. JEE Main exam admit card will carry the details such as Name, Roll Number, Exam date, and other instructions.

 

JEE Main Guidelines For Appearing In The Exam

One should reach the exam venue at least an hour before the reporting time. No candidate will get permission to enter the exam hall after the gate closing time. Follow the instruction available on the admit card so that you do not face any difficulty on the date of the exam. Follow the instruction of the invigilator in the exam hall. No candidate can leave his/ her seat without the special permission until the full duration of the paper is over. Do not forget to carry the documents required for appearing in the JEE Main 2021 exam.

  • Photocopy of JEE Main admit card / hall ticket.
  • A passport size photograph.
  • A photo ID issued by any Government agency such as PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card.
  • PwD certificate, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.

JEE Main Mock Test 2021

NTA will activate the link of JEE Main 2021 Mock Test after the completion of the application process. JEE Main Mock Test will give an idea about the real-time examination. Candidates who will attempt the exam for the first time should make the practice of mock test of JEE Main. It will help them to be aware of the process of the online test. Candidates will take the mock test online which will start in a similar of the examination. In the first step, the login screen will appear and after that questions with multiple options will display on the screen. So, make the practice of it in order to avoid any difficulty in the exam hall.

JEE Main 2021 Exam Centers

JEE Main exam center is the venue where a candidate has to report in order to sit for the exam. The option to choose the exam center of JEE Main while filling the application form. Candidates can check the list of JEE Main exam centre 2021 so that they select a city as per their convenience. Candidates can select 4 cities for the exam, so make your preferences carefully. Try to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the reporting time. On the exam day, there may be rush and chances of traffic so make plans accordingly. If the exam city is far from your location then visit the same city at least one day before the date of exam.

JEE Main Answer Key 2021

The answer key shall be available tentatively after a week of the completion of the exam. JEE Main official answer key will help in getting the correct answers. Using NTA JEE Main 2021 answer key, one can predict the marks as well as rank in the exam. JEE Main Paper 1 & Paper 2 answer key shall be available separately. Candidates will be able to access the answer key of jee main in online mode only.

Although candidates can also refer to the JEE Main answer key by Resonance, Allen, Career Point, etc. to check the answers on the same day of the exam. The answer key by coaching institutes will be available after a few hours of the completion of the exam. But do compare your response with the official JEE Main answer key also.

JEE Main Result 2021

Candidates will be able to check JEE Main 2021 Result in online mode. JEE Main January 2021 result will release in the last week of January 2021. On the other hand, the April session result will release in the last week of April 2021. In order to download JEE Main result, the details such as Registration Number and Date of Birth is important. NTA will declare the Paper 1 & Paper 2 result on the different dates. JEE Main result release date will be available after the release of the official notification.

JEE Main 2021 Cut Off Marks

The cut off mark is the minimum mark which a candidate has to score for qualifying the examination. In order to get an idea of the cutoff marks of JEE Main, one should refer JEE Mains previous year cut off. By observing the cutoff, candidates will get an idea about IIT Cut Off, NIT Cut Off, etc. Those who will not score marks either equal to the JEE Main Cut Off 2021 or more he/ she will not be eligible for further rounds. Preparation of the JEE Main cut off percentile will take various things into consideration such as no. of seats, no. of applicants, marks scored by applicants, etc.

Counselling of JEE Main (JoSAA)

Candidates who will qualify JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021 will participate in the counselling. The counselling is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates who will qualify the exam shall participate in JoSAA counselling for admission in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. Admission to the institutes will be done on the basis of rank obtained by the candidates in the exam. JEE Main 2021 counselling schedule will release after a few days of the declaration of the result. JoSAA counselling will be conducted online so that students can take part without facing any difficulty.
